About Tru-Brix

About the System

Tru-Brix is a revolutionary new siding product that provides the longevity, beauty, and security of clay brick and the simple installation of siding.

Tru-Brix Real Brick Siding is unique because it requires no adhesives which are vulnerable to weather, but instead relies on a mechanical bond utilizing the strength of steel and the permanence of real brick. This is how Tru-Brix can have a 50-Year Warranty.

Another feature of Tru-Brix is its simplicity. Anyone with minimum carpentry skills can install Tru-Brix and finish with a beautiful brick project.

Given Tru-Brix's wide assortment of colors and styles, customers can create their own special design or compliment any existing building or wall.

How the Tru-Brix System Works

1. Remove Existing Siding

First the existing siding is removed from the structure. At this time, any repairs to the layers under the old siding will be repaired. Housewrap, if not already present, is installed at this time.

2. Install Steel Rails

Next, the steel rails are fastened securely to the wall.

3. Install Brick Tiles

Once the rails are in place, the brick tiles can be installed. The brick tiles are snapped into the rail, with space left in between for mortar.

4. Mortar

Once the brick tiles are in place, the mortar can be pumped into the spaces between the bricks. Your installer will work in sections to help insure that the mortar does not dry in the wall before striking can take place.

5. Finish the Wall

Once mortar is applied to a section of installed brick tiles, your installer will hand-tool the mortar with the mortar joint of your choice. When the entire wall has been mortared and struck, the installer will brush the wall to remove any excess mortar.

About Redland Siding Systems

Tru-Brix Real Brick Siding was developed by Redland Siding Systems LLC, a subsidiary of Redland Brick Inc. and The Belden Brick Company, two of America's oldest brick manufacturers. Tru-Brix is manufactured in Williamsport, Maryland at Redland Brick's Cushwa plant and uses brick produced at both the Cushwa plant and from Redland Brick's Rocky Ridge wood mould plant. The Cushwa plant is the oldest continuing brick operating plant in the United States. The Cushwa plant and Rocky Ridge plant produce wood mould brick and authentic handmade brick. These brick products are distributed throughout the United States and are used on commercial, institutional, and residential projects.

Since Tru-Brix is manufactured from traditional clay brick, it meets or exceeds the requirements of ASTM C-1088 thin brick, grade exterior (severe weathering). With the permanance of fired clay brick and longevity of heavy gauge steel, Tru-Brix provides the strongest warranty of any thin brick system available on the market today.
